Fantastic: 'Big Fish'
This Tim Burton film did not have the media hype of others, but it contains one of the most beautiful stories in his filmography. Will Bloom (Ewan McGregor) is in charge of telling the story of his father Ed (Albert Finney), whose past is full of incredible events. Bloom, overwhelmed by the thought that his father is going to die without him knowing who he is, investigates all those stories and discovers that behind the legends there is a lot of reality (only with a little exaggeration). Delicious, poetic and perpetual clínex.
Musicals: 'Giving the note'
There is a lot of 'Glee', Ryan Murphy's successful and remembered series, in 'Giving the note'. However, while the first few seasons of 'Glee' were vibrant and full of excitement, 'Giving the grade stays on ... the perfect movie for a Sunday afternoon. Yes, it is simple and predictable, but entertaining. In it, we are introduced to Beca (Anna Kendrick), a girl devoted to music who, when she arrives at university, joins a choral group made up of young people who apparently have nothing in common. This group of singing a cappella will face three others in a difficult contest.
Action: 'Inception' (2010)
Christopher Nolan signed one of his great works in this film that mixes drama, action, science fiction and even some romance. 'inception' is located in the not too distant future in which a technology allows us to enter the dreams of the other to manipulate them, obtain secrets, states of opinion, etc. Leonardo DiCaprio plays a dream thief who is commissioned to implant a thought in the mind of a senior manager. Complex and sometimes difficult to follow, Nolan puts together an entertaining film that you will surely want to review more than once.
Comedy: 'Lock & Stock' (1998)
We are lucky that on Netflix you will find Guy Ritchie's first feature film as a director, filmed in 1998, where some of his best features as a filmmaker are already evident: the black touches, the rogue atmosphere, British customs, sleaze, a new perspective on masculinity ... In this case, we will also see a very young Jason Statham being part of a gang of friends who, in the course of a poker game, loses a huge fortune. They are given a week to pay off the debt, but everything is complicated because whoever claims it has a strange fondness for ancient weapons and also mixes a mess with narcotics. Fun, fast-paced, far from usual and with a great soundtrack.
